Street Corner Stories

Employing cinéma vérité, Warrington Hudlin grounds his film at a New Haven, Connecticut corner store, capturing the rhythm of Black residents' jokes, attitudes, and political imagination. The record of Black repartee, style, and sound is a blissful first feature from the director who later went on to helm “House Party.”
