Sambizanga

At the dawn of the Angolan War for Independence, Domingo —a liberation movement organizer— is captured by the Portuguese military for his revolutionary activity. As Maria, his wife, travels through bureaucracies and far terrains to reunite her family, Sarah Maldoror’s masterwork makes sharp commentary on the strength of all who endure under colonial violence.
