Emitaï

With a film dedicated to all militants supporting the African cause, “Emitaï” lays bare the hypocrisies of imperalism. Set during World War II, the story focuses on the remote Diola tribe’s resistance to the French army’s acquisitions of their essential supplies. As tensions escalate, the villagers strategize against the French and pray to Emitaï, the god of thunder, to reliquish their worry.
