Black Theatre: The Making of a Movement

From the civil rights movement emerged a new kind of Black theater: one where leading artists hoped to use art to awaken pride in Black culture and use art as a means to develop Black consciousness. This documentary chronicles that hope with the day’s leading voices and snippets of their ongoing work.
