A Man is Ten Feet Tall 


An endearing dock worker (Sidney Poitier) befriends a White man who has deserted the army and all of his obligations. As their budding friendship grows, tensions reach a breaking point on the dock.

This television drama, produced by the famed Philco Television Playhouse, was later remade and expanded into 1957’s “Edge of the City,” with Poitier playing the same role.
